What is Sovra? +
Sovra is an AI-powered health benefits wallet for employers. It gives every employee a funded wallet to spend on healthcare — covering medical copays, prescriptions, dental, mental health, and wellness — paired with an AI care navigator that guides them to the right care in plain language.

HR and Finance teams get a real-time dashboard with anonymous population health signals, AI-surfaced intervention opportunities, and full wallet control. Built to HIPAA standards. No per-claim fees. Setup in under a week.
What is an AI-powered health benefits wallet? +
An AI-powered health benefits wallet is an employer-funded platform that gives each employee a real spendable balance across healthcare categories — medical, Rx, dental, wellness, mental health — combined with an AI assistant that helps them navigate benefits, find providers, understand coverage, and make informed care decisions year-round.

Unlike traditional benefits cards, it provides intelligent, personalized guidance at the moment an employee needs care — not just during open enrollment.
Is Sovra a replacement for health insurance? +
No. Sovra works alongside your existing health insurance — it does not replace it. Sovra fills the gap between the insurance employees technically have and the care they actually use. It funds out-of-pocket costs, navigates care decisions, and connects employees to Direct Primary Care — all as a complement to whatever plan the employer already offers.
How is Sovra different from a traditional benefits platform? +
Traditional benefits platforms are enrollment and administration tools — they help HR set up plans but do little to help employees use them year-round.

Sovra is AI-native and wallet-first. It actively guides employees to care at the moment they need it, integrates with Direct Primary Care, surfaces AI-driven cost intervention opportunities for employers, and charges no per-claim fees — unlike other platforms that charge when employees actually use their benefits.
Why do employees underutilize their benefits? +
Research consistently shows the root cause is complexity and a lack of year-round navigation:

71% of HR leaders say employees underutilize benefits (Forrester)
90% of employees re-enroll in the same plan without reviewing it (Voya Financial)
35% don't understand their coverage even after open enrollment (Maestro Health / HR Dive)
47% say benefits don't fit their actual needs (PeopleKeep)

Sovra solves this with an AI navigator that meets employees at the point of need, in plain language, year-round.
For employees
What does the employee experience look like? +
Employees download the Sovra app, see their funded wallet balance across benefit categories, and can immediately ask the AI navigator questions in plain language — things like "what does my plan cover for an MRI?" or "where's the nearest in-network dermatologist?"

They can search providers, upload lab results, log symptoms in a health journal, request reimbursements, and access Direct Primary Care — all from one app. The app is free for employees.
Can employees keep their health data if they leave the company? +
Yes. Employee health data is portable. When an employee leaves, their personal health history — lab results, health journal, health profile — goes with them. Their data belongs to them, not the employer.
Can my employer see my personal health information? +
Never. Individual employee health data is never shared with employers. Employers see only anonymized, aggregated population-level signals — they cannot identify any individual employee's health status, diagnoses, or care decisions. This is a core design principle of Sovra, not just a policy.

Pricing & setup
How much does Sovra cost? +
Sovra is priced per employee per month — the same model as modern SaaS tools. There are no setup fees and no per-claim fees.

Wallet funding is separate from the software fee so employers control exactly how much employees receive. Annual contracts are standard with monthly contracts available. Custom quotes are available for larger employer groups.

Sovra provides a real number in the first call — no month-long discovery process. Get a quote →
Are there per-claim fees or setup fees? +
No. Sovra charges no per-claim fees and no setup fees. Many legacy benefits platforms charge a fee every time an employee submits a claim — which creates a perverse incentive to limit utilization. Sovra's model aligns with yours: you pay a flat per-employee monthly rate regardless of how much employees use their benefits.
How quickly can Sovra be set up? +
Sovra can be set up in under one week. There is no lengthy implementation process and no setup fee. Once live, employees can immediately access their wallet and AI care navigator through the app.

For context: most enterprise benefits platforms require 4–12 weeks of implementation. Sovra is designed to be operationally lightweight from day one.
Direct Primary Care
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)? +
Direct Primary Care gives employees a direct relationship with a primary care physician — unlimited visits, same-day access, discounted labs, and discounted medications for a flat monthly fee. There are no insurance claims, no copays, and no waiting weeks for an appointment.

DPC is growing rapidly across the US as an alternative to the traditional insurance-based primary care model, and is available in all 50 states.
How does Sovra integrate with Direct Primary Care? +
Sovra integrates natively with DPC practices across all 50 states, accessible directly through the employee wallet app. Sovra's AI navigator automatically routes employees to DPC when it is the most appropriate care option — based on the employee's symptoms, location, and care history.

Companies using DPC through Sovra typically see meaningful reductions in specialist referrals and unnecessary ER visits.
Does DPC replace my company's health insurance? +
No. DPC is a complement to health insurance, not a replacement. It handles the high-volume, lower-acuity care that primary care physicians are best suited for — freeing up insurance for specialist visits, hospitalizations, and complex procedures. Together, DPC and a high-deductible health plan can significantly reduce total healthcare costs for both employers and employees.
Compliance & privacy
Is Sovra HIPAA compliant? +
Sovra is built to HIPAA standards. Protected health information is handled with appropriate technical and administrative safeguards. Individual employee health data is never shared with employers.
What data does the employer see? +
Employers see only anonymized, aggregated population-level data — trend signals, utilization patterns, and AI-surfaced risk insights at the group level. They cannot identify any individual employee's health status, diagnoses, care decisions, or wallet transactions at the individual level.

Individual data belongs to the employee. Always.
Is my data encrypted? +
Yes. Sovra uses end-to-end encryption for all health and financial data in transit and at rest. Security and data integrity are foundational to the platform — not an afterthought.
